This and other articles regarding links and screens within SystmOne may refer to "HA", meaning Health Authority. This is the historic generic term for the now-centralised organisation known as PCSE (Primary Care Support England). Correct at the time or writing (Nov 2023).
What are Registration Links for?
Registration Links or "Links" pass messages between the GP system and the central NHS systems to ensure they both match.
For example, you change a patient address and a links message is sent to the central HA systems so this is automatically updated there (updates can also come from the HA to the surgery). If a patient applies to register with you, a links message is sent to the central systems advising the patient would like to register with you and (if this is appropriate and details are correct etc) then the central system will mark them as your patient, send an approval back to you (they are then your official GMS patient rather than Applied) and send a links message to the previous surgery advising the patient is deducted (removed).
Note: Whatever is in the central system is what counts for surgery Global Sum payments etc. If the GP system says a patient is registered, but the central system says they are not, they are not considered your patient you will not get paid for them.
Summary of each Links screen
EDI Administration
This is the old Links screen. Ignore it. We do not encourage its use and advise you to use the normal Links screen.
*New* Links
Main links processing screen, needs to be maintained daily.
Note: TPP may at some point choose to drop the *New* prefix, the screen is in fact many years old.
Search Links
Used to find or troubleshoot links that have already been actioned and retry/resend when advised by the HA.
Medical Records In/Out
Lists the Lloyd George notes that need to be sent back to the HA and new Lloyd George notes that are on their way to the surgery as well as whether the records needs to be printed.
FP69 Administration
Lists patients that will automatically be deducted by the HA on the date stated. Review this screen at regular intervals and try to make contact with patients to confirm current address.
Outstanding Deduction Requests
Patients listed are those where the surgery have requested a deduction but are still registered (normally there for approximately 30 days). Note: That the 'Cancel' option on this screen no longer functions; do not attempt to use this. Request to cancel pending deduction requests must be raised directly with the HA.
