Guidance is available on the Care Identity Management website:
If you are removing a position that allows someone to access a website or piece of software that has a manual account (such as SystmOne/EMIS), ensure their profile in the software is also disabled and archived.
Why? With SystmOne as an example: The system allows a user to sign in without their smartcard and remembers the rights that were present at last login. If you only remove the access position via CIM, but do not disable the profile in SystmOne, the individual can still sign in manually for up to a month.
