Find by telephone number
This can be useful in situations such as contact from someone that is not a patient, but is receiving SMS or calls from the surgery. i.e. Typo when number taken or number has fallen out of use by original owner and been recycled by the network.

Find by address
Using Quick Patient Search [F10]
This screen is often used to search by name, date of birth and NHS Number.
To search by Address; use the following format (note the comma positions): Name, Street Address, Postcode
Any of the following would bring up results that include John Smith, that lives at 1 Commercial Road, IP1 1AA
Depending on the exact version used, other patients may also show in the results.
- John Smith, 1 Commercial Road, IP1 1AA
- Smith, Commercial Road - Those called Smith on Commercial Road
- ,Commercial Road - Those at Commercial Road
- ,,IP1 1AA - Those with this postcode
- S,Com,IP1 - Those with surname starting S, on a street that starts com, with a postcode starting IP1 (including, IP11, IP12, IP100 etc)
Using Patient Locator [CTRL]+[R]
Patient Locator is the "full" patient search tool. It can be found via shortcut (CTRL+R) or under Patient on the main menu.
You can use it to search on forename, telephone, address, Usual GP etc.
e.g. If you know the patient was Mohammed and the Usual GP Dr Jones you can find all patients with that criteria to try and identify a patient.
