SystmOne has a built-in video consultation solution where patients follow a hyperlink on their device (smartphone or PC with webcam & microphone) and the clinician can do the same.
The options in the system are labelled 'Airmid'; however, neither the patient nor staff member need to have the Airmid app installed.
Any appointment can be started as a video consultation, even if not originally booked with the 'Video Consultation' Slot Type; however, appointments booked with this Slot Type can automatically have a different SMS confirmation and reminder with the video consult link included.
Enabling video consultations
Even if your surgery doesn't routinely use video consultations, we strongly recommend making this facility available.
- Navigate to Organisation Preferences (Setup > User & Policy)
- Access Appointments > Video Consultations
- Open View EULA to Give Consent
- Agree
- (Recommended) Tick Enable appointment confirmation/reminders via SMS for TPP video consultations
Where you - Click Ok to confirm
Inviting patients to video consultations
Manual invites
You can manually send a patient an invite by right-clicking the appointment and selecting Video Consultation > Invite to Airmid Video Consultation. This is advisable if the appointment was not booked into a Video Consultation slot.
Once the patient has followed the link their appointment will be marked as Arrived (normal clock icon and pink colour) and you can Start Airmid Video Consultation for yourself (demonstrations of starting the video consult are below)
Automatic invites
- If the appointment was booked into a Video Consultation Slot Type the patient will automatically be sent confirmation and/or reminder messages with the video link prior to the appointment based on your existing surgery appointment/confirmation settings and schedule.
- When you start a video consult you will automatically be prompted to send a final invite with options to send via SMS, email or Airmid (depending on the contact details the surgery holds). If the patient has not already been sent an invite, you will need to wait for them to receive the message and join the consulation.
Inviting other professionals to attend
When on the Send Invitations to Airmid Video Consultation screen you can invite other professions, such as other SystmOne users (both those within your organisations and those elsewhere) and to any surgery Address Book entries with suitable contact details (e.g. Email address).
Up to 4 users can be in one Airmid Video Consultation (including the patient).
Examples: Invite a trainee or supervisor.
SystmOne users will need their contact details to have been added to their account.
To add contact details see below section: Launching a video consultation using a different device e.g. Smartphone
Using Airmid video consultations
Please note: Since TPP released their video guides, the Airmid consultation options have moved to a submenu labelled Video Consultation
