Bulk changing Usual GP/Named GP with a Pooled List

Every so often the Clinical Systems Team hears from a surgery that has unfortunately misunderstood the Internal Transfer settings and inadvertently bulk transferred all their patients to a single Usual GP.

Below shows how to successfully transfer patients from one Usual GP to another when you have a Pooled List.

Scenario: You wish to transfer the patients of Dr A to Dr B

Select only "usually see" (Usual GP) options.

❌ Do not select 'Registered GP'.

Why is this important?

Selecting the options as they appear on the right will mean you transfer your entire patient list to Dr B.

Why must I not select the Registered GP?

Having this as your input (never do this)…		…and this as your output…

…does not mean, “SystmOne, please find the patients with Registered GP as ‘Dr Surgery name/Pooled list’ who also have as Usual GP as ‘Dr A’ AND THEN change their Usual GP to ‘Dr B’.”

It means, “SystmOne, please find the patients with Registered GP as ‘Dr Surgery name/Pooled list’ and change their Usual GP to ‘Dr B’ (i.e. Please change entire list's Usual GP) AND THEN find patients with Usual GP as ‘Dr A’ and then change their Usual GP to ‘Dr B’.”
