Prescription signing counter wrong?

Modified on Tue, 17 Jun at 5:59 PM

Make sure all signing staff know how to filter the 'Prescription Search' screen

If the ‘Total ETP Prescriptions to Authorise’ counter shows a number, but not that many prescriptions to sign, this usually indicates one of two issues:

A) Branch Filter is applied

Prescriptions may be located at a different site.

  • Change the site filter to ‘All Sites’

  • Then click Run Report or press F5 to refresh the screen

B) Old Unsigned Prescriptions Still Present

Unsigned prescriptions older than one month are be hidden from the default view, but still require action.

  1. Right-click on the counter for Total ETP Prescriptions to Authorise (bottom-right of the SystmOne window)

  2. Select Show Details - this will display the months where unsigned prescriptions are present (See screenshot below)

  3. In the ETP Signing screen, set the filter to:

    1. Site: All Sites

    2. Date range: Include the month shown in step 2

    3. Then click Run Report

  4. Review each patient record listed

    1. If the prescription is still required, sign it

    2. If not, delete it (such as if re-issued since or otherwise no longer required)

  5. Repeat for any additional months shown in the details view
